The Olympics and similar have long lost their soul. Applying that sort of mechanistic competitive mind-set to the realm of medicine can only lead to disaster.
This is way beyond the proverbial 30 pieces of silver.
It's even worse if you consider the price tag paid by the Federal Health (sic) Ministry: 20 € for every second and third injection--you do the math: 20 € x 700 injections = 14,000 € per day. I'm assuming Ms.--now: Dr.--Vadlau did this more than one day, but even if she did this 'only' for a regular 5-day work-week, it would be 70K, which is way, way above the median annual income (before taxes) of some 47-48K (2023).
Exactly. I confess to wondering--speculating--what else of things I once thought un-thinkable will be proven correct next (and, no, I'm not referring to Matt Groening's seemingly awesome predictive capabilities).

Somehow, that crucial piece of information is missing from Der Standard's coverage.
Very dark place, indeed!
While that's true, it's not unexpected, isn't it?
It is to be expected.

For me this is all a total disgrace of humanity. Thanks for nailing it down to concrete figures and people.
May they end up in the places they deserve to be.
Holy smokes this is very, very dark.
On a lighter note...did...anyone see the Australian breakdancer? https://www.theroar.com.au/olympics/video/breakdancing-is-officially-an-olympic-sport-and-its-cringe-1373307/
Looks like me when I was drinking. Honestly, I have never felt so 'seen' in the athletic arena.
Haha, as a matter of fact, I've actually seen a clip on Twitter/X of that breakdancer (sic).
Darkest before dawn… we hope and pray
Or before the lights go out permanently.
Remember 'Chariots of Fire'?
