Oh my, how did you survive? /sarcasm.

Being a few years younger (but born in the same month), I can relate to such experiences ^_^

Funny, the first 20 days of january were way below the average januar temperature, but noone mentioned it. The first day its above the average, the hype starts again. We have definitly a human induced wheather forecast.

It's the weather™, isn't it?

Personally, I'm offended by the sheer stupidity of these claims, which remain, of course, 'un-checked' by the usual suspects.

Yes, but that was in West Germany, a totally different nation, so it doesn't count!

I'd go for: 'partially correct', for I think things were very different in 1974.

It's the new normal, and there's nothing else to say about it, except perhaps:

I'm reminded of the 2004 movie 'Der Untergang' (Downfall) by Oliver Hirschbiegel, which featured the last days of Hitler (if you're interested in the subject, don't watch the movie, read Hugh Trevor Roper's The Last Days of Hitler), specifically the scene there Hitler remarks, 'Man muss glauben' (lit. 'one must believe') when receiving Albert Speer and talking about the future prospects of Nazi Germany.

As long as one believes this kind of nonsense, as shown above, I think it's possible to keep doubts and, more importantly, cognitive dissonance a bit at bay.
