yes, I've seen such videos, and I also know about the perils of ownership concentration, which is highly relevant to things such as "local news". Sometimes these topics even make it to absolutely 'mainstream' venues, such as (iirc) a clip by John Oliver a few years ago. Still, I'm wondering how these things--which are patently absurd--make it through editorial meetings.
I did translate something about this a few weeks ago: an open letter from a public broadcast employee in Germany who wrote--precisely--about this problem.
Entitled "I cannot go on like this", veteran journalist O. Skambraks opens his letter like this:
"I can no longer remain silent. I can no longer accept silently what has been happening at my employer, the public broadcaster, for a year and a half now. Words like ‘balance’, ‘social cohesion’ and ‘diversity’ in reporting are enshrined in the statutes and media-state contracts. What is being practised is the exact opposite. There is no true discourse and exchange in which all parts of society can find each other."
The media has been in lock-step for a number years.
I would suppose you've seen videos like this that pre-date the "pandemic"?
