Can virtue signalling circle back so hard in clown world that Germany flies the flag of Hitler alongside a pride flag and a flag of the Islamic caliphate? I say yes. We have not seen the peak of the insanity. Things are going to get very, very weird.
That's what's so nice with belonging to a nation that hasn't changed it's flag morethan superficially at all, and Dannebrogen is even older than the swedish one.
No such headaches.
Then again, if each and every symbol that's been used for purposes nowadays deemed EvilBadWrong, we'll run out of the pretty quickly.
I think that particular 'let's cancel everything' gig has about run its course.
In the above case, the three flags might have been raised because it's helpful to shore up support for the régime, which, let's not forget, according to its own statements, fights for its survival.
I would therefore anticipate that a) Western countries, if they find themselves in the very same or at least comparable position, would quickly do away with 'first-world problems' (such as, say, emailing the tax authorities to change one's 'gender') and focus on the more 'real' issues.
Exhibit A: recently, a German court decided that a transgender person who transitioned from biological male to outwardly female cannot escape conscription in wartime
As a corollary, b) I suppose that anything will be done to shore up support, including a hefty dose of what Frederic Paxson, a historian and once president of the American Historical Association, in an address delivered in 1938, called 'historical engineering'. In real terms, it would mean, e.g., that the US will bring back the Stars and Bars, or Germany re-emphasise its glorious military history.

Excellent trolling.
It's sad (and a wee bit funny, for sure), but I wouldn't rule it out.

There is literally nothing new under the sun.
The "doppeladler" on a field of yellow does look much better than the present flag.
