This reminds me of the attitude when we have hung parliaments in Australia. The first thing the incumbent does is come out and start screaming at the people for 'not voting correctly.' What a bunch of assholes.

That's exactly the way *not* to govern in a supposedly democratic polity: by insulting the people. I share your sentiment.

It makes me laugh so much.

When H. Clinton came out with the 'basket of deplorables' comment I was like - yeah we get that every hung parliament.

Abuse will continue until democracy(tm) improves!

German-language legacy media (and social media, too) reads like this for years.

This literally made me laugh out loud.

How much more can we take? The abuse from politicians is insane. I just got a paper notice in my letterbox from the local politician about 'how much money she is saving me' smiling in front of Parliament.

I have an email saved from this woman that says she agrees with force-jabbing citizens using the military under the Health Act.

They go as far as 'we' let them, and as far beyond until they're stopped (for time being).

The abuse is insane, I concur--there's but one solution: don't let them drown you with their BS.

Regardless what comes next, the war in Ukraine will keep escalating and energy supplies from Russia will remain severed. Why? Because those decisions, just like all imperial decisions are made elsewhere. Remember the time when Angela Markel’s phone conversations were tapped? She complained but they just ignored her; tapping continued. When US Senate was attempting to “investigate” CIA torture, the news broke that CIA was listening to Senators’ conversation. They complained at first and then nothing happened. There were no real “torture” hearings, either. The nominal governmental structures are now a Potemkin Village of their historical selves. Oligarchy rules directly through the Deep State structures. Nominal democratic institutions rubber stamp decisions made elsewhere. For this to stop we’d need to do more than voting for “democrats” and “republicans” or whatever their controlled left/right equivalents in Europe might be.

Not that I disagree, but there are also more dissenting voices--which, of course, won't change a thing, substantially, for the damage isn't already done (de-industrialisation) but the so-called 'Green New Deal' is now set up and it cannot be changed abruptly. Same with 'ESG' and 'woke'.

Voting won't bring 'change' of the kind you're talking about, for sure. But remember a definition of un-sustainability: what can't go on, won't.
