In this age of feminism claiming we need equity and 50/50 parity everywhere between men and women, only men including those "who identify as women" are eligible for forced conscription?
Bwa-ha-ha-ha! Not even Jaroslav Hasek could have written this tragic comedy better!
The so-called "self-determination law" is intended for trans, non-binary and intersex individuals, and the German federal ministries of Family Affairs and Justice are reportedly expecting 4,000 cases a year. However, as stated in the lede, the "self-determination law" makes it easier for ANYONE to change their recorded gender and their first name.
The special regulation of the planned law is intended to prevent men avoiding conscription by taking advantage of the "self-determination law", but it implicitly concedes the proposed legislation is open to abuse. Unlike the previous "transsexual law" which had an allegedly “medically outdated, pathologizing understanding of transgenderness”, there will be ZERO checks and balances:
"In the future, no one should have to go through court proceedings or require medical certificates and expert opinions to change the gender entry. A simple declaration at the registry office is sufficient."
Needless to say, there is no requirement for any medical procedures or hormone treatments. You can just walk into the local registrar's office (county clerk) and, no questions asked, change your sex and name ONCE A YEAR:
"Changes to the first name or gender entry can still be made multiple times. However, at least one year must pass before a new change is made."
This really doesn't sound very serious:
"The new name or gender entry would become valid three months after the declaration has been submitted; the change can also be withdrawn up until then."
Of course, the potentially more interesting aspect of all this, is that the current woke government is even considering the possible affects of their own gender-identity law on a possible conscription, which Germany has not had since 2011!? Hmmm...
Hihi, yes, these morons have problems. I suppose it's more about distracting people from more serious issues, such as the coming economic crash, the problems deriving from energy supplies come winter, and the ongoing strike of the railroad workers, to name a few.
You write: 'the current woke government is even considering the possible affects of their own gender-identity law on a possible conscription, which Germany has not had since 2011!?'
Back in 2011, the gov't 'suspended' conscription, that is, it wasn't 'applied'; that said, it's incredibly funny (as in: stupid) that, if push comes to shove, one may 'feel' about one's gender all day long, but as long as 'sensitive' or 'existential' issues aren't concerned, the state doesn't care.
Apparently, when the going gets tough, it's a very different kind of ballgame.
(As an aside, I'd love to see trans activists, such as Dylan Mulvanee, inducted and 'enjoy' boot camp for a day or two…)
Cannot. Stop. Laughing.

I thought so, too, but then again: never under-estimate the German-speakers' capacity for bureaucratic inanities.
Also: I suppose Kafka would be proud.
So, I searched for the article (google translate for non-german-speakers):
