"It appears to be grossly negligent to ignore the vaccinated population as a possible and relevant source of transmission when deciding about public health control measures."
Oh wow--this is aweful for the 'pro-vax über alles' crowd.
It's also quite in line with data coming out of the UK and, to certain degrees in Norway (even though the gov't significantly monkeys around with the numbers due to the definitions).
As for week 45 and the methodology: in the Norwegian reports, this has to do with the widespread diffusion of antigen/rapid tests, which totally screws with any of these numbers (whatever they are/were worth earlier).
As an aside, the Oslo authorities are actually unsure whether the antigen/rapid test can actually detect the dreaded 'Omicron' variant. (My best answer: haha, you couldn't make this up…)
Change in methodology refers to computation of the percentage vaccinated. Here's the percentages given (for 60+) in the reports:
week 39-42: 84.6%
week 40-43: 84.9%
week 41-44: 85.1%
week 42-45: 87.6%
week 43-46: 87.8%
week 44-47: 87.9%
There is some explanation in the Wochenbericht that I do not understand. However, the 87%+ figures are higher than the current official proportion of vaccinated people.
Good to hear that this information still finds a publisher. The successors to the 58.9% (for weeks 39-42 in Germany) are:
week 40-43: 60.5%
week 41-44: 60.9%
week 42-45: 70.6%
week 43-46: 71.4%
week 44-47: 71.3%
It is not clear what happened in week 45. Seems to be more of a change in methodology.
