So, yesterday this happened: we went to our daughter’s piano recital, organised by her instructor. There were about 25-30 people, and the shop-owner (where the recital took place) mentioned that ‘if anyone wishes to put on a face-mask due to the Corona situation’, the attendents were welcome to do so.
While one of the other parents actually wore a face diaper outside (no comment), he took it off once inside (admittedly, it was around freezing temperature outside, so for all I know, he may have been wearing the face diaper in lieu of a scarf).
Interestingly, none of the people in the room moved to pick up a face diaper (I never wear one, if you ask, for I try to stay up-to-date on the data—shoutout to Steve Kirsch for updating his Substack regularly), thus every kid who performed could actually see everyone’s actual faces.
That box with the face diapers, though, was placed on an empty chair right in front of me, and since I never wear one of these face diapers, I was curious, although not surprised, to see the description (my emphasis):
‘The product protects against the spread of infectious agents, it can be used during periods of increased epidemic threat and epidemic. Bacterial filtration efficiency (BFE) > 70% (tested in accordance with EN 14683:2019).’
Bottom line: face diapers such as these (above), self-made cloth masks (of which I see many more these days than, say, three weeks ago), and the like are useless, that is, unless you’re symptomatically sick with a (respiratory) illness.
But then again, common sense indicates, that you shouldn’t be out and about, right?
They can "encourage" "recommend" "strongly recommend" and "urge" me to wear a face diaper all they want it's not gonna

How very encouraging to hear no one complied with the subtle coercion to don the diaper!
