I notice the EU doesn't mention Moldavia's atrocious score on the corruption index, or that over 40% of Moldavian's states that they have had to bribe a government official in the last year.

Transpareny dot org tracks these things, and is usually the go-to place for journalists and people interning for politicians.

The CIA World Factbook was sadly ended in February this year, otherwise it would also have been a good source on Moldavia and its issues.

I've met people from Noldavia. They make Gypsies seem upstanding and ivilised.

Moldova (indep. since 1991) is one of Europe's weakest states and ".... one of the fastest depopulating countries in the world [...] primarily due to mass labour migration driven by economic conditions, involving over one million citizens of a country with a current population of 2.4 million. Within the next few years, the number of retirees is likely to match the number of employed individuals, potentially causing the collapse of the already inefficient pension system. Furthermore, there is no indication that Moldova’s demographic situation could improve in the foreseeable future...." - https://www.osw.waw.pl/en/publikacje/osw-commentary/2025-01-08/a-disappearing-country-moldova-verge-a-demographic-catastrophe

remember pulling Italy and Greece up to "European standards"?

Birds of a feather like to flock (fly) together?

So... a solution appears, not that it'll happen:

All illegal migrants to the EU, all migrants who have committed crimes, and all migrants incapable of supporting themselves?

Shipped to Moldavia.

The migrants get to stay in the EU (but may not leave Moldavia), and Moldavia gets a lot of new citizens.

Maybe I should write this down and send it to Die Führerin von der Leien?

she might take you up on that ;-) however, Moldova really deserves support for developing plans that involve its people in creating more favourable social and economic conditions. bombing the former Yugoslavia to smithereens (HT Madeline Albright) led to the formation of a number of non-viable states: the perfect pretext for the EU to step in, take over and extract even more "opportunities". another win for Big Finance and Soros-think tanks.

Aren't these skilled workers supposedly solving™ the West's labour shortages?

Oh, wait, 'bout that … (bangs head against wall)

who benefits form the rise of/to fascism in europe?

who is behind it?

epimetheus's avatar

Best case: with Moldova and/or Ukraine in the EU, the Commission looks squeaky clean.

jan van ruth's avatar

that could be the goal of this particular exercise.

but it does not explain who is behind the commission and its goal of an authoritarian fascist impoverished europe.

which group of people have an expressed interest in ruining the people of europe?

an interest that has been multi generational..

I dunno who's behind this; my working model has always been: if you know their names, they ain't in charge.

i put my money on men with tiny silly hats who's names used to end in gold, berg or stein...

See my above comment.

In terms of substance, I hold: if you know their names, they ain't in charge.

And while this doesn't mean these fine people you allude to aren't part of them (sic), I doubt that they consist exclusively of any one group or faction.

Moldova and the Ukraine in the EU? What could possibly go wrong?

I dunno, let's think of this like Nietzsche, as in, the staring into an abyss part? (EDIT: cleared up my typos: apologies).
