I like the poems. They’re very moving. The poem ‘ the second coming’ that describes how I feel.
Mandatory vaccination from 14. That must be the death knell for your government. They would do well to dither longer. That would not be their smartest move.
Do you have any view on the rate of booster uptake in Austria? Too soon to tell?
I'm glad you like the poems. There should be more poetry in everyone's life, including Yeats' "Second Coming", which is one of my favourites (in the English language).
As to the vax mandates, it should be the death knell for the Covidistan régime (they are, by quite a margin, not "my" government, by the way; my person aside, they are clearly not the Austrian people's government, either). My gut feeling is that the reason they're dithering is that they know the vax mandate will be their end, so, if I'd give them the benefit of the doubt, they're trying hard to not decide on anything until they can weasel their way out of this problem of their own making. So, here, too, I'd offer some free advice: if you're in a hole, stop digging.
As to your vax uptake question: some 20% of the eligible went for the "booster" (i.e., more of the same of what hasn't worked earlier) so far. More will take it, and I'll provide some more detailed information tomorrow or on Thursday, if that's alright with you?
Finally, thanks for your kind words. It's quite nice to know that you appreciate my spare-time activities.
I haven't lived in Austria for more than a decade, and I may be wrong about some of the sentiments--but the events speak for themselves, I daresay:
30,000 people in Graz--it's unheard of since 1945.
50+ police stating their opposition to the régime's policies--similarly unheard of since 1945, esp. the police commandant's reply ("oathbreakers").
150+ teachers announcing their intent to quit--never happened before.
The Interior Minister all but pleading for the protesters to stay home next Saturday: well, given that the earlier stance in Vienna (and elsewhere) was "we're ready"--what do you think?
The régime knows its outnumbered. They also "know" (perhaps intuitively, as my personal estimation of the putschists cognitive capabilities is, well, not that good) that they cannot play "the long game", for the more people take the "vaccines", the more people will get seriously hurt.
Bottom line for today: my guess is that they hope this all will go away somehow before the Christmas holidays, which will "defuse" the tensions. I doubt that this course of action will play out that way (and you'll have to wait until my next update as to why I think so).

Another good article. One of many.
Warm regards.

Y'know, the first lockdown should have been the death knell for governments around the globe. At this point, anything is possible, I'm afraid.
I do hope there's a huge turnout on Dec 4.
Hear, hear, Irena, I'm with you.

Stay strong.

That sounds about right to me.
