Covid in Austria: Public Health Officials and Legacy Media Gaslighting about ‘Vaccine Injuries’
Curiously, the official numbers intimate that Austria's rate of vaxx injuries is 37 times lower than Norway's (if you'd like to believe that number, I've got a bridge to sell to you)
Today’s end-of-the-year posting is a translated version of a piece I wrote for ‘my’ German-language hang-out, tkp.at (h/t to my colleagues Peter F. Mayer and Thomas Oysmüller). Originally posted over at, here’s some crucial background on this particular item.
Two days ago, on 29 Dec., Austria’s public health chieftain, one Katharina Reich, MD, whose current job title is Director of Public Health, appeared on the morning newscast by state broadcaster Ö1. The occasion was the administration of 20 million doses of Covid injections in Austria, which, according to Dr. Reich,
was accompanied by 1,619 adverse event reports, of which 50 were recognised based on the Vaccine Injury Compensation Act [Impfschadengesetz]. 38 individuals received a one-off compensation of up to 2,000 €, and the remaining 12 will receive a monthly stipend of up to 700 €.
So, you see, there’s actually nothing to see here. Move on, folks. Or is there?
Vaxx Injuries: Doctors, Public Health Officials, and Government Are Fighting the Truth and the People
Something is very rotten in the state of Austria. This week, the domestic media openly reported on something that until then had been considered very much dishonourable: vaxx injuries as a result of the Covid injectable products. According to almost identical reports in tabloids Heute and Österreich, a total of 1,619 suspected cases of vaccine damage were reported (out of about 20 million doses injected); a mere 50 cases withstood specialist examinations. Why these figures are ‘fantastic’ in the truest sense of the word, to say the least, can be seen by looking at neighbouring countries. A philippic against public health officials, politicians, and legacy media.
‘That’s the true number of vaxx injuries’
Thus opens the article in Österreich, accompanied by the following main statement: ‘In Austria, almost 20 million vaccination doses have been administered so far. The number of vaccination injury is low.’ You can safely put this article and the one in Heute aside, because these statements hardly correspond to the truth.
The basis of both articles is a report in the Ö1 Morgenjournal, which you can listen to here. In addition to Director for Public Health Katharina Reich, there was also on the air Rudolf Schmitzberger, Head of the Department for Vaccination Affairs of the Austrian Physicians’ Chamber [Ärztekammer, the Austrian Medical Assoc.]. The latter emphasised the difference between vaccine damage vs. side effects, whereby, according to Heute, ‘the low number of applications [is] quite plausible, as Germany registers similar figures’.
This, in turn, can be characterised as outright gaslighting—and, probably, also delusion—as even the most cursory glance at the available public data from the Paul Ehrlich Institute shows. As Sonja Padsch reported over at TKP at the end of October [see here for my translation], German state broadcaster ARD showed the following breakdown:
Germany has about 83.7m inhabitants, Austria has about 9m; if one only uses the official figures as they appeared in that above-cited ARD broadcast, one can roughly determine the following:
Germany has about 9 times as many inhabitants as Austria;
The number of vaccine doses administered, at just under 183 million, is about a factor of 9 higher than the 20 million doses administered in Austria;
In Germany, however, 323,684 suspected cases of vaccine damage were reported as of the end of October—and if you divide this number by 9, you get a value of about 35,965 suspected cases that should have occurred in Austria.
This would correspond to number of suspected vaccine injury cases that is off by a factor of 22; in other words, Germany is reporting a 22-times higher number of vaxx injuries than the Branch Covidians in Austria.
‘I hear your message, but faith fails me’ (Goethe’s Faustus)
Further evidence of Reich and Schmitzberger’s creative use of the truth can be found in the comparison with Norway.
In order to compare roughly contemporaneous data, the following figures are taken from the report on vaxx injuries by the Norwegian Legemiddelverket (the Norwegian Medicines Agency) of 20 Sept. 2022:
11,881,000 vaccine doses were administered;
By mid-September, 60,500 suspected reports of adverse events had been registered;
As of this date, 6,884 of these were classified as ‘severe’ (alvorlige);
According to its National Statistics Authority, Norway has 5,475,240 inhabitants.
The population of Germany is therefore between 15-16 times larger than that of Norway (factor 15.42).
If you multiply the 11,881,000 doses administered in Norway by a factor of 15.42, you get about 183.2 million doses, i.e., Germany is only slightly less vaxxed up, but these numbers are essentially identical.
However, if one multiplies the number of possible adverse events reported in Norway (60,500) by the same factor of 15.42, one gets a figure of about 932,910 incidents, i.e., a figure which, if true, would be almost three times (factor: 2.88) the number of reported vaccine injuries admitted by the Paul Ehrlich Institute.
Even ‘stranger’—read: more implausible—however, is the category of severe adverse events: because if we make the same basic calculation here (i.e., multiply the Norwegian number of severe cases by 15.42), we get the figure of 106,151 severe adverse events in Germany, which is almost twice as high as the figure mentioned in the media piece by Ms. Padsch published in the end of October (off by a factor of 1.93).
Lies my Gov’t Official Told Me
What, then, may we infer from these computations?
EITHER Norwegians are getting qualitatively much worse products that result in comparatively much higher numbers of adverse events (while paying for somewhat greater freedom of no mandates with higher ‘collateral damages’)—
OR German authorities are significantly underreporting their ‘true’ AE rates (while suffering under the extension of these useless and insane mandates at the same time).
My money is on both counts, by the way, as both Germany and Norway are participating the same sham masquerading as the EU Commission’s questionable joint acquisition of these products.
When I think of Austria at night…
…it is hard not to consider the following:
If one now re-does essentially the same calculations analogous to the German-Norwegian comparison, we’d get the following figures:
Austria’s population is about 66% larger than Norway’s, but the official number of reported suspected cases of vaccine injury (1,619 in Austria) is lower than in Norway, and it is so by a factor of 37.
It is hard to believe in coincidences, hence, for the following paragraph we will take the statements made by Drs. Reich and Schmitzberger at their face value:
If, as Schmitzberger from the Physicians’ Chamber pointed out, the Austrian figures ‘are quite plausible [because] Germany registers similar figures’—why are the German numbers of suspected vaxx injuries so much higher than the ones admitted to in Austria? I mean, Austria’s vaxx injury numbers are lower by a factor of 22? Reich, in turn, emphasised that many applications are made by individuals without a doctor’s input—which begs the question about the honesty of the medical profession…
Responding to a parliamentary enquiry, the current Minister of Health, Johannes Rauch, admitted in writing in July that only 6% of all adverse events following vaccination are actually reported by the domestic medical profession. If we now use this figure as a basis for calculation, there would be about 25,000 reports missing (based on the information given by Dr. Reich in the Ö1 Morgenjournal).
Minister Rauch, Dr. Reich: where are these reports?
Incidentally, Health Minister Rauch also stated the following (my emphasis):
There is no explicit legal obligation to conduct a ‘vaccination status survey’. However, according to § 49 ÄrzteG 1998 [the Physicians’ Act], doctors are obliged to conscientiously care for all healthy and sick persons who receive medical advice or treatment. Within the scope of their patient’s medical history, all information necessary for the clarification of a clinical diagnosis is to be obtained. If there is a suspicion of a vaccination side effect or if the expected efficacy does not occur, physicians are obliged under § 75g of the Medicines Act to immediately report this to the BASG [Federal Office for Safety in Healthcare] in accordance with § 75a of the Physicians’ Act.
Dear employees of the Federal Office for Safety in Health Care, what happened to these supposed reports?
Last but not least, if we apply the Norwegian data to our extrapolations, we get the following results:
The number of vaccinated doses in Norway (approx. 12m) is about the same as in Austria (approx. 20m);
Norway’s population (5.4m) is about 2/3 of Austria’s population of about 9m—but somehow, in Austria only 1,619 suspected adverse events have been reported; if the number of suspected adverse events in Austria were about the same as in Norway (60,500 vaccine injury reports until mid Sept.), Dr. Reich would have to talk about 100,000 vaccine adverse events.
Minister Rauch, Ms. Reich, Mr Schmitzberger, dear employees of the Federal Office for Safety in Health Care: what are the correct figures?
Until Proven Otherwise, J’accuse
Public officials like Minister Reich and the staff of the Federal Office for Safety in Health Care have to answer to the sovereign people (and taxpayers).
Quasi-public persons and institutions such as the Physicians’ Chamber (Medical Association) may not be legally subject to the same duty, but due to the explosive nature of the topic, they owe the public this information in any case.
Ministers like Johannes Rauch—and the rest of the federal government—should explain themselves as soon as possible, in parliament and to the people.
Last but not least, a word about the domestic medical profession: finally do your job and help the patients. 94% of vaccination injuries are not reported, as Minister Rauch has stated. If you, dear doctors, want to restore the trust of the population, you should find your spine and take a stand as soon as possible.
Calls for a Covid amnesty are premature. Before any such thing, there must be an admission of guilt, ideally in a court of law.
Lying under oath, by the way, is a criminal offence, but for politicians and government advisers, it is apparently part of the job description.
In any case, the published circumstances suggest either that the domestic figures are very wrong—or the German numbers are. Or the Norwegian data.
(Personally, I think all these numbers are problematic and/or lies, but that’s another story).
In the end, all that remains as 2022 ends is one quite appropriately realistic conclusion: dear Dr. Reich, I wish you all the best for your upcoming job change to the pharmaceutical industry, because in your current function you are obviously completely unsuitable—and outside the pharmaceutical industry, or perhaps as a health spokeswoman for the Greens, you will hardly find a job where your ‘competences’ speak for you.
In this sense: a happy new year, even though there should not be a ‘golden handshake’ for you, Ms Reich. And please take your colleague from the Physicians’ Chamber with you.
Bottom Lines
I’ve gotten in touch with Jessica Rose (shout-out to Jess) and obtained the final pre-EU censorship file from the VAERS foreign reporting set; I shall now go and check how many of these reports were filed by the Federal Office for Safety in Health Care.
If that number proves to be in excess of 1,619 reported adverse events, I suppose the filing of criminal charges for neglect of duty or the like would be in order, if not entirely appropriate.
Stay tuned for 2023.
Swedish registry for vaccine-injuries is handled by the Swedish Medcial Products Agency (which of course is funded and staffed by people from the pharmaceutical industry):
[https://www.lakemedelsverket.se/en/coronavirus/covid-19-vaccine/reported-suspected-adverse-reactions-corona-vaccines]
On the page is links to more detailed reports where numbers of dead from vaccination is reported, a number not made visible on the page linked, for some reason. Brief summary:
"Up to 8 December 2022 a number of 104 418 reports on suspected adverse reactions has been sent to the Swedish Medical Products Agency (Swedish MPA).
Comirnaty (Pfizer/BioNtech)
Number of doses given: 18 554 907
Number of reports: 55 817
Nuvaxovid
Number of doses given: 12 583
Number of reports: 40
Spikevax (Moderna)
Number of doses given: 4 455 367
Number of reports: 23 470
Vaxzevria (Astra Zeneca)
Number of doses given: 1 338 234
Number of reports: 24 712
Figured I'd post these if you wanted to do further comparisons. There's of course also links to the EU/EEA data set at the bottom of the linked page. Comparing Austria with the general frequency of all of EU/EEA might get a reaction from Austrian officials perhaps.
Happy New Year!
👏👏👏💯👍🙏
Re the URF and it's estimated factor (thanks Super Jess btw!) But Im thinking the real ADE number is going to also vary, from country to country, depending on each country's exact definitions of ADR and side effect. I would hazard a guess that regardless of any censorship or pressure on Drs and medical staff, if they determine it is likely a side effect of the shot, rather than ADR, then the likelihood of a report in the databases would be slim to none. Given people signed or accepted the very wide range of possible side effects occurring when they agreed to getting the shot, despite be under EUA.
So not only is the ADE number under reported by anywhere between 37-41, but then also that number is unknowingly off by X, for each country, depending on their definitions of the terms. Or does every country have exactly the same definition?🤔🤔🤷♀️
