NATO to build a new HQ in Wiesbaden, Germany, to 'coordinate' whatever is connected to Ukraine while the US reinstates the draft
This is a follow-up to a few days ago:
This time, Jens Stoltenberg announced the creation of a new NATO HQ in Wiesbaden, as reported by, among others, Germany’s Bild.
As always, translation and emphases mine, as are the bottom lines.

The headquarters for the planned NATO mission to coordinate weapons deliveries and training activities for the Ukrainian armed forces will be located in Germany.
This was announced by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on Friday after the meeting of defence ministers in Brussels [I presume Germany didn’t object at said meeting; more likely, Berlin wasn’t asked].
Accordingly, the new NATO command will be based at an existing US facility in Wiesbaden and at logistical hubs in the eastern part of the Alliance (Poland and Romania) under a three-star general reporting to the Supreme Allied Commander of Europe.
Accordingly, the NATO will monitor the training of the Ukrainian armed forces in training centres in allied countries from Wiesbaden and support Ukraine by planning and coordinating donations.
‘Managing the transfer and repair of equipment will support the long-term development of the Ukrainian armed forces’, Stoltenberg continued, adding:
These efforts will not make NATO a party to the conflict, but they will strengthen our support for Ukraine in upholding its right to self-defence.
A total of 700 soldiers from NATO and partner states (presumably mostly from Ukraine) would work at the three new locations.
Bottom Lines
With these developments, the world is inching ever closer to the next big war. Some people muse it already started, and there is some credence to these notions.
Then there’s also the reinstatement of Selective Service in the US, tucked away in this FY’s National Defence Authorization Bill. Pursuant to ‘Subtitle D—Recruitment, Sec. 531. Selective Service System: automatic registration’, we read the following:
(a) Automatic registration.—3. (a)
(1) Except as otherwise provided in this title, every male citizen of the United States, and every other male person residing in the United States, between the ages of eighteen and twenty-six, shall be automatically registered under this Act by the Director of the Selective Service System.
So, there you have it.
Therefore: will ‘we’ all go to war, once more, like in summer 1914?
Time will tell.
Most 18-26 yr olds unaware as no interest in politics, with their parents equally disinterested or, as one or two have said, "What can I do?" And, the answer is nothing.
