Old News on ‘Vaccine Efficacy’ and Omicron, as per Drosten on 11 Nov. 2021

'We're worse off than we were a year ago'--and that was before 'Omicron'--it turns out that multiplying the number of 'variants' significantly elevates the level of gaslighting

Let’s start today with a brief reminder about the current shenanigans revolving around the latest ‘hype’ named ‘Omicron’. While there’s no need to get into the details about it, here’s Bloomberg on the exuberance among Pfizer staff (my emphases):

‘Pfizer Inc. expects its Covid-19 vaccine to hold up against the omicron variant, an executive said, and data on how well it protects should be available within two to three weeks.

“We don’t expect that there will be a significant drop in effectiveness”, Ralf Rene Reinert, vice president of vaccines for international developed markets, said in an interview with Bloomberg Television. “But again, this is speculation. We will check this. We will have the data in the next couple of weeks.”’

I, for one, won’t hold my breath, and in case you’re wondering as to why, well, let me share with you this brief snippet of ‘old news’ from the good ol’ days back in the first half of November of this year before anyone cared, or knew, about ‘Omicron’.

‘We’re worse off now than we were a year ago’

As a public service announcement, here’s a brief, if telling comment about and by Christian Drosten, which appeared a month ago (11 Nov.) in a cheap Vienna daily tabloid by the name of Heute (my emphasis):

‘“We’re worse off now than we were a year ago’, [Drosten] said on his podcast “Coronavirus Update”.

The Delta variant is a real game-changer, he said, adding: “The vaccine was not specifically designed against Delta, but to fight a virus [the Alpha variant] that no longer circulates today.” Now vaccinated people are quickly becoming carriers and spreading the virus again…a “true emergency situation”.

It should be our aim to have “a population that has been completely vaccinated three times over”, but because this is still a long way into the future, there is a risk of up to 100,000 more deaths.’

Now, why would I bore you with ‘old news’?

Well, you see, Drosten is the European (German) equivalent to Anthony Fauci, and his word carries a lot of water with Central European decision-makers, in particular in Covidistan (Austria) and Greater Covidistan (Germany).

I knew about this snippet for quite a while now, but ‘other developments’ kept me from sharing it with you so far. But the simplest answer to the above ‘old news’ question is, of course the fact that Drosten said all of this before the ‘appearance’ of the dreaded ‘Omicron’ variant.

You see, we all know that the Delta variant is a problem, and there you have Drosten, a member of the medical-tyrannical junta with impeccable establishmentarian credentials (sic) telling the public two essential things (which, I believe, you and I already knew):

1. The ‘vaccines’ don’t work in general, otherwise we’d not be worse off worse than last year.

2. The ‘vaccinated’ are spreading the (Delta) variant.

Mind you, this happened before Omicron became a thing two weeks ago.

About that Oslo Omicron Outbreak

Oh, by the way, the Telegraph is reporting the following about this:

‘As many as 120 people who attended the Louise Restaurant and Bar on the night of Nov 26 tested positive for Covid.’

I shall correct my earlier estimate of an 83% infection rate at this evening. It’s approximately everyone of the 120 attendees. Over at Bad Cattitude, El Gato Malo has brought this up, citing The Daily Mail as source.

While I don’t disagree with Gato’s tentative conclusion (‘this is covid becoming a cold’), the ‘problem’ I’d point to is that there’s no evidence in the above-linked sources that anyone actually made the ‘120 out of 120 attendees tested positive’ statement. I haven’t found anything in Scandinavian media or on official websites.

Be that as it may, the Norwegian Institute of Public Health mentioned somewhere (and I cannot find the reference right now) that ‘Omicron’ stands poised to supplant ‘Delta’ (which is currently 99% prevalent in Norway) in a few months.
