Footnote: St Greta of Climate Change Declared We're all Doomed
Plans for the weekend? Sorry, ain't gonna happen, according to a badly-aged Tweet from 2018 that foretold we're all going to die unless we 'stop using fossil fuels' until, well, today
Of course, that Tweet is now in Twitter Heaven, but keep in mind:
To this day, five years ago, St Greta of the Church of Latter Day Climate Doom (apologies to all Mormons, but this pun is literally funny, I’d think) declared, quite boldly, that, if humanity didn’t ‘stop using fossil fuels over the next five years’, climate change ‘will wipe out all of humanity’.
So, a quite badly-aged intellectual bird dropping, sure, but since St Greta didn’t add any timeframe, this one is quite akin to Schrödinger’s Tweet: it could be that, given that ‘climate change’ may do in humanity in the future, her expectation might eventually come true.
We’ll see, therefore, if St Greta will be remembered for boldly calling for our own demise at some (undetermined) point in the future.
Well done, and congrats on your high school diploma. Are you, by chance, going to continue your education at university? I think theology or the like might be a good ‘fit’…
