Footnote: A Reality-Check for 'Doing Green'

Meet Dr. Groen (U Leiden profile; ResearchGate profile).
From her LinkedIn profile:
At The Hague University of Applied Sciences I am a lecturer at the European Studies programme. I teach courses on labour migration to European small to medium-sized cities and research skills. Furthermore, I supervise thesis students on the themes of 'Green and Just Cities', about sustainable and equal cities.
I am doing research for the Changing Role of Europe Lectoraat @European Impact Hub where I am involved in leading a student-driven research about EU mobile citizens in smaller to medium-sized cities across Europe and how to improve their registration and housing policies for workers (especially on fair work and social rights).
Another student-driven research I coordinate is about the perceived concepts of 'peace', 'justice', the 'green deal and just transition' and Sustainable Development Goal 16 of the United Nations (peace, justice and inclusive public institutions) by youngsters in The Hague.
I advice ministries and municipalities on international topics.
I defended my PhD research at Leiden University on 24 November 2022. I conducted my PhD study at the Institute of Public Administration on the successes and failures of governance networks attracting International Organisations to The Hague, Geneva, Vienna and Copenhagen. A video about my research is attached to my profile:
Whenever I have time I'm writing in newspapers about topics related to my research. I am involved in a study group that is doing cutting edge interest groups studies.
Oh, the irony.
Sigh.
Using trains for transporting humans has never been profitable; it came about as an after thought when trains were the new hot tech, since the rails were already in place and the cabin of a stagecoach could be easily mounted on a railcarriage. There were even models built for quick swotching between rail and coach.
Trains are best suited for transporting goods, though places like Japan or South Korea might make that a lie.
If the Greens were serious about environmentally sound transports for humans, they'd endorse modernised zeppelins.
Hey, that's one of our German ICE trains in the picture! Explains the 48 hours.
