Covid in Austria: Vaxx, Lies, and Videoclips Edition

If this is the 'New Normal' (shout-out to C.J. Hopkins), it's even weirder than I thought, but it's also a testament to our patently absurd times

The below images are from a supremely crappy video produced with tax money, courtesy of a piece in Exxpress, a conservative-leaning ‘alternative’ outlet; see if you can spot the patently absurd things:

Still 1: ‘student dorm party’, with two unvaccinated and/or not vaxxed-enough dudes; note the ‘paid for with funding from the municipal vaccination campaign’.

As a sidenote to the above still, the ‘municipal vaccination campaign’ (kommunale Impfkampagne) is actually misleading, as these are federal funds made available with that very specific earmarking.

Still 2: ‘Boosta the Syringe’ (I’m not making this up, by the way) is kidnapping these two dudes and dragging them to the subway; note, hilariously, that Vienna insists on FFP2 masks on public transport, but these two, if forcibly dragged to the injection clinic, must not wear them.

Still 3: final destination, I suppose (pun intended).

Covidistan has 14m Excess Doses of Covid-19 Injections

Do venture over to this other piece at Exxpress, which provides more background on ‘Boosta the Syringe’, which is the new mascot dreamed up by Health and Human Services Secretary and long-time Social Democrat apparatchik Peter Hacker.

It also informs us about the mascot’s sadness:

‘Boosta is so alone’, is the sentence with which the new vaccination mascot of the City of Vienna currently greets visitors on its official Instagram channel. In a short clip, you can see it sadly wandering through empty halls. The video ends with the sentence ‘Boosta is waiting for you, don’t let him down’.

In another video, the mascot of Health City Councillor Peter Hacker (SPÖ) happily walks through the streets of Vienna and tries to get people to vaccinate.

Check out the official Instagram channel; it’s mind-bogglingly stupid and arrogant, to say nothing about its totalitarian motto:

It’s so weird, but hardly surprising: the Health Ministry has outsourced acquisition of the Covid injections to the EU Commission, which has overdone things. The Committee of Public Safety is sitting on 14 million doses, which is about 71% of the amount of doses already administered (19.7m).

No-one wants them, but for whatever reason, but according to information from the Health Ministry, the EU Commission has already ordered 17 million (!) more doses, to be delivered until 2026.

Bottom Lines

Why is it o.k., or at least normalised, to a certain extent, for the government to advertise kidnapping people and forcing them to undergo an experimental medical intervention?

I’m a historian, but I’m sure you can come up with any number of unsavoury historical examples to this course of action.

Finally, let’s do some math together: 19.7m doses have been administered so far; 6m have been donated due to their limited shelf life; there are 14m doses in storage right now; and there are orders for up to 17m more doses.

Austria has some 9m inhabitants, of whom roughly 14% (or c. 1.26m) people are younger than 14); hence, we may calculate, however crudely, that the remaining 7.74m people should receive all these 56.7m doses, which come down to 7-8 injections per person until 2026.

So, apart from a tribunal to adjudicate the above incitements to criminal activities on a number of counts, we’d also need the Court of Accounts (Rechnungshof) to investigate the misallocation of millions, if not billions, of tax-payer funds.
