Covid in Austria: Groundhog Day Edition, As 'Experts' and 'Journos' Wear Their Intellectual Bankruptcy with Pride
They Are So Far Gone, They Won't Notice, Despite 3 out of 4 People Declining to Take Yet Another Covid-19 modRNA Shot
Time for yet another ‘Covidistan’ Update, ladies and gentlemen. I won’t be doing them so often these days as the information would be both repetitive and insultingly stupefying, hence this summary update in the form of a short Q&A.
What is happening in Austria these days?
Not a whole lot with respect to Covid. During the summer, there was, of course, the ‘climate emergency’ that dominated the news cycle, which stopped intermittently as ‘the weather’ was not complying consistently enough. This summer’s highlights incl.:
None of these insights, however, changed any legacy media journalists’ minds. It is (almost) as if doing the same thing over and over again yet ending up with the same results is, well, the MO of legacy media, most of academia these days, and whatever passes for ‘politicians’.
Oh, lest I forget, here’s another one of these examples that are almost perfectly fitting in terms of bringing all of the above together in one episode:
O.k., got it—but what about Covid?
(Almost) no-one cares about it anymore. Sure, the powers-that-be are continuing their charade, but at this point, according to a new poll, 74% of Austrians stopped caring. As reported by alt-media outlet eXXpress, the Ministry of Health bought another 1.9m ‘updated’, mice-tested ‘booster shots’ that virtually no-one wants to take. These are added to the 17m ‘old’ injections that are still on the shelfs that no-one wants. Austria has approx. 9m inhabitants.
So far, nothing new. How’s the journo-’expert’ bubble coping?
This is where it gets ‘funny’ (if it weren’t mind-bogglingly, insultingly stupid). The short answer is: very, very badly.
Health Economist and Covid shill Thomas Czypionka, who also sells his reputation (or what’s left of it anyways) to the ‘let’s install air filters’ group, came out strongly in the Hate’n’Covid’n’Fearporn rag Der Standard arguing for the installation of ‘air purification systems’ in all buildings. Arguing that Austria would ‘again march unprepared into yet another Covid seasons’, his main concerns include:
asking if we should bring back masks and mask mandates? (I’m not kidding.)
don’t take ‘Covid’ lightly, for it’s dangerous
and, of course, he complains that finding information about getting jabbed yet again would be ‘very hard to find’
What’s the second-most stupid thing you read so far?
There’s some tabloid outlets, such as Heute, whose staff is flabbergasted that, while ‘Covid’ is no longer classified as an infectious disease that authorities must be informed about, people can no longer claim ‘to be sick’ or ‘have tested positive’ to avoid going to work.
They even contacted an employment law expert of the Chamber of Labour (Arbeiterkammer) to double-check whether ‘Covid’, which is like a cold these days for most people, would permit employees from calling in ‘sick’ without seeing a doctor to get this in writing. In short: no symptoms, no couch-lingering for you.
And the most insultingly stupid thing is…?
…again, I’ll direct you to known and notorious Covid Hawks Jasmin Altrock and Magdalena Pötsch who write, of course, for the above-mentioned Hate’n’Covid’n’Fearporn rag Der Standard. In a piece that came out earlier today, entitled, ‘It seems that everyone’s sick these days: is it a cold, flu-like illness, or Covid’, you can immerse yourself in this public health (sic) equivalent of a house of mirrors at a fair ground (my translation and emphases):
People are coughing and blowing their nose all around. The cold season has started, especially cold viruses are currently circulating. The corona wave is rising only slowly…
The vast majority of those who fall ill are at home with a flu-like infection. This is a phenomenon that has been known for a long time, the so-called September epidemics. ‘When the summer holidays are over, everyone comes back from their holidays and school starts again, the infection numbers rise’, explains Volker Strenger, paediatrician at the Clinical Department of General Paediatrics at Med-Uni Graz. This does not only concern coronaviruses, which are currently still in the background. At the Centre for Virology at MedUni Vienna, they are observing an increase in infections with cold viruses. ‘This is typical for autumn. First the rhinovirus infections increase, then towards the end of the year the RSV and influenza season starts’, explains virologist Christoph Steininger.
Reading on carries increased risks of headaches due to repeat face-palming. You have been warned.
The Ministry of Health’s monitoring shows an increase, possibly the beginning of the autumn wave. Steininger is sceptical about this data, however: ‘Think of the holiday season. Many people were not in the region where the sewage is recorded until recently. There are too many question marks for me.’ The wastewater data could be a clue, but it should be interpreted with caution. In fact, the wastewater monitoring has recently caused confusion among some. The Ministry of Health showed an increase, while the City of Vienna reported a decreasing virus load in the wastewater.
The main problem, as the following paragraph holds, is this:
In general, however, there is a lack of data on the cold season. ‘Other viral infections are only very poorly recorded’, criticises Steininger and pleads for systematic, nationwide monitoring. Currently, the Ministry of Health’s early warning system only registers inpatient admissions with severe respiratory infections. That is too little.
So, the ‘solution’ to this is—the call to register all respiratory infections in the cold season, incl. the common cold (guess why it bears that name, geniuses), flu-like illnesses, etc.
One last quote, then I’m done with this crap; see if you can spot anything about the notion ‘how to engineer (fake) a pandemic’ here:
Question: Can we already estimate what the Corona autumn will be like?
Answer: At the moment, EG5.1 is the dominant variant in Austria. The Pirola variant, which experts are watching with concern, has not yet arrived in Austria—at least not officially. ‘But if we don't sequence, we can't find anything. I assume that it is also circulating in our country’, Elling believes. It will not play a big role at the moment, he says.
But soon the numbers will increase, experts predict. ‘The USA and Great Britain are already in the middle of the wave. Here it is still quiet because of the warm weather’, explains Elling. But the longer this calm lasts, the more immunity is broken down, he stresses: ‘Immunity is figuratively a barrel with many holes. If too much water leaks out, it should be filled again. That could be done very well now by means of vaccination.’ The vaccination panel recommends Corona vaccination for everyone over the age of twelve.
See: ‘the experts’ figured out that if you don’t test people and sequence their tissue, they don’t find anything that allows the WHO to ‘find’ a ‘pandemic’.
‘The experts’ also found out that there is something like ‘seasonality’ (no shit analysis).
Wow, what morons. Does anyone still listen to them?
Unsurprisingly, the diehard vaccinators won’t stop spouting their nonsense, disinformation, and propaganda. In this, they are aided and abetted by legacy media, both of whom are revealed as little more than Big Pharma shills.
As ‘vaccination’ rates across the board decline, there is ‘sorrow’ faked by the vaccinators, but they will not question their roles in this, for it would require introspection and reflection. While these are hallmarks of adulthood, I consider it unfair to call them ‘child-ish’ or the like. These people are both irresponsible and evil.
Unless you have a broken arm or the like, don’t listen to these ‘medical professionals’.
What are the consequences of these failed policies?
One word: chaos. Right now, in Vienna, public hospitals cannot use 949 beds. By comparison, at the end of 2022, 928 beds were closed; then, ‘a particularly large number of people were ill with influenza and Corona’, write Ms. Altrock and Ms. Pötsch, adding that ‘this number is not an indicator for the care of the patients’.
This is, of course, yet another instance of gaslighting, I’d argue. As reported by Heute from Upper Austria, staff shortages are so bad that doctors and nursing staff are now effectively forbidden from going on vacation.
After the Corona pandemic, it was not possible to provide the urgently needed relief, according to Helmut Freudenthaler, chairman of the labour council of the Medical University campus in Linz. The dramatic consequence is that it is hardly conceivable for employees to take time off…
Until recently, about 200 beds had been out of commission. The same number of qualified personnel is missing.
After the pandemic, the acute geriatric ward at the hospital campus, which was closed because of Corona, had not been reopened. For example: There had been 40 beds in the Internal 2 department before the pandemic. Today there are 20.
This is by far not the only such report. The sad conclusion is, according to trade union leader Freudenthaler:
People often just can't take it anymore because the workload is so high, and they look for something else or quit even though they don't have another job yet.
Keep in mind we’re not yet in the depths of the cold season 2023/24. It is reasonable to expect this situation to worsen across the board.
I'm surprised that Californistan so far is remaining relatively normal (for Californistan, that is). Only a few diehard facemaskers walking and driving around, stores and public transit aren't yet limiting hours, coffeeshops and restaurants aren't yet removing electrical outlets, closing off access to bathrooms, and warehousing half their tables and chairs. I wonder how bad it'll be when Newsom hits the Big Red Switch. Hopefully I'll be in Mexico by then, which will also be paralyzed by ridiculous rules, but enforcement there is haphazard and can often be avoided.
Anyone with a sniffle who will go get tested is going to start the next wave. Whilst many are fed up and over this now there are still mask wearers who will get the next jabs, which will cause more illness and then produce the next wave. Now, of course, we have added stresses, cost of living, wondering how to keep warm etc.
