Armchair Travel Greetings from 'Down Under'

Guess what, tucked away in the box labelled 'Europe', in-between Albania and Belgium, I found quite a few postcards from Austrialia

I’m extra-short on time this week, hence somewhat more limited posting. While waiting for a student, I checked one of the boxes of postcards—and, lo and behold, in-between ‘Albania’ and ‘Belgium’, for reasons unbeknownst to me, I found several postcards from Australia.

Trick q: how many clichés can one put into one postcard?

One of my daughters’ favourite movies is: ‘Back to the Outback’, by the way.

As the below scan of the reverse indicates, this postcard was mailed in 1955.

A close-up of the Harbour Bridge from around the same time (1950s), with the reverse, reproduced below, indicating the wide range of ‘writing practices’.

No armchair trip to ‘Down Under’ would be complete w/o Tasmania…
